CHENNAI - SUNRISE AT MERINA BEACH

When i reached chennai i was so tired by all that travelling and heat .I just had some food and slept till 4pm.In the evening i went around the college meeting my old friends.we watched some movies and shared some jokes.Nothing much to write about we had some funtime.

                                       Early next mrng i forced srinu to get up and v were out of the college by 4:30am.We walked fairly far to find a share auto at that time but its d best time to walk.we reached merina beach by 5:20am.Now we should wait till the sunrise.

                                                        we enjoyed the sunrise and clicked some nice pictures(all the pics in this blog are taken from my nokia c6-01 so plz dont complain about the quality :p)

After enjoying sunrise we went back to hostel,refreshed ourselves and were back in the streets in no time.This time Sarath joined us.We spent the whole day going around the city in local train,eating cheap and tasty food available road side,spending time in big shopping complexes using their free wi-fi,eating burgers at mcD and drinking crushers a kfc.

                                               On the whole it was a day to remember

HITCHHIKING TO CHENNAI

When i started from nellore my only aim to go as far as i can with the little money i have.In nellore i skipped into my friends hostel and ate along with all the other students.Visitors are not allowed but as i am of the same age no one thought me as visitor.

                                           I decided to hitchhike from nellore to chennai as that is a familiar route to me.distance from nellore to chennai is 180kms and a number of cargo vehicles will b leaving from nellore to chennai via tada checkpost.If i can catch a ride to tada from there hundreds of lorries will be leaving to chennai every hour.

                                        I walked around 8kms with that heavy backpack to the outskirts of the city on to the highway towards chennai.It was not so hot as it is first week of feb.I choose to do it winter for two perticular reasons

        1)It will be easy for me to walk long distances and stay on road for more time hoping for a free ride
        2)ooty,kodaikanal and munnar are famous hill stations and will be heavily crowded in summer and prices of every thing goes high

                                     i stood on the highway for 10mins thumbing at every vehicle.After 10 mins i got my ride in a lorry.Luckily i dont need to find a ride from tada as this lorry is going all the way to chennai.When i got on the lorry driver expected me to pay some little money but when i said that i dont have money and when i told about my travel plans he said its cool.He became curious and kept on asking me about the trip.We reached chennai by 11am(3hrs journey from nellore).

                                                              He dropped me at some place far away from where i should be.From there i took a local bus to chennai central railway station(30 mins journey).I walked around 1km from chennai central to park town local railway station.Believe me it doesnt matter whether its summer or winter afternoons in chennai are always HOT.From parktown station i took a local train to kasturi ba nagar(fare 6rs.one thing i love about chennai other than beaches is that local trains are so cheap)

                                My friend sreenu was waiting at the station and we walked 1km till we reached iit main gate and from there we took a college bus to reach his hostel.

                                                   I still remember how tired i was by the end of that day

*MAHABALIPURAM - one day trip from chennai(leaving iit early morning and reaching back)

*PONDICHERRY - stay at pondicherry engineering college with my friend avinash.

*TRICHY - stay at nit,trichy with my friend basha.

*TANJAVORE - day trip from trichy

*KODAIKANAL - asking strangers for stay or making sky as my only roof

*MUNNAR - asking strangers for stay or making sky as my only roof

*OOTY - asking strangers for stay or making sky as my only roof

*CALICUT - stay at nit,calicut with my friend sidharth

*GOA - stay at POORNA's place(he is holystoked skater i met while doing workshop in festember fest and he offered to crash at his place when i reach goa)

after goa i planned the trip and stays and it gos like this

GOA-MUMBAI-DELHI-KANPUR-VARANASI-KHARAGPUR-KOLKATTA-DHANBAD-RANCHI-BHUVANESHWAR-VISAKHAPATNAM AND BACK HOME.

I havent completed the trip as i am affected by viral fever by the time i crossed calicut and it forced me to go back.

DUMPING EXTRA BAGGAGE AND GETTING SOME COURAGE

It takes 3 hours to reach NELLORE from SINGARAYAKONDA by train.The moment i got on to the train i left a message to my parents about my plans.I was so nervous about how they would react but my journey has already started and i only hoped that they would understand me.

                                                          I reached nellore by 9am and went straight to narayana medical college where my best buddy shauddin is pursuing MBBS.My plan is to stay at his place for a couple of days till i sort out where and how i should go and also i am hoping to hear from my parents.I also got some extra baggage as my parents thought i am going to vijayawada.So i am gonna cut some weight and dump all the extra luggage at his place.

                                                     At 2'o clock i got a call from my mom.I am too scared to respond but after a few rings i spoke.My mom was sad but she said ''stay safe,call me daily and comeback soon".At that point i had little more than 2000rupees so she might have thought that i wont travel much and ill be back in 10 days.But my plans were different.

                                              I stayed two days in NELLORE during which i visited near by sea shores,skated some nice spots and dirty streets and planned out my trip.After i dumped my extra luggage i was in a fix whether to carry my skateboard.There r very few time when i havent carried my skateboard with me and i didnt want this to be one of them.

      Few extra pounds of weight on my back doesnt hurt considering the fun ill have with my skateboard.

GETTING AWAY FROM HOME

I have been planning this trip for a longtime.Next day i AM supposed to join a CA course in vijayawada.But there is something else i want to do first.I want to go on a trip which i fancied to call MY FIRST ADVENTURE .

My train to vijayawada is at 5am next day.When my dad dropped me at railway station little did he knew that i am going to NELLORE which is in opposite direction.My journey stated on the moment i got into the train to NELLORE.

BTW i am karthik and this blog is about my LIFE ON ROAD.
